Most kids are overly excited about having a few months off from school for summer break, but what about you? Have you or another nurse ever considered taking the summer months off with your kids but didn’t know how or figured you would have to use up all your PTO if you did?
Not necessarily, so.
Some years back, I met a mommynurse, Alexa, who grew tired of leaving her 2 boys at home while she went to work over their summer vacation. After 2 years of feeling this way, Alexa made some changes that now allow her to spend her summer months with her kids.
~~~This is how she did it: (3 Steps)~~~
- She thought ahead:
Alexa calculated what was needed to sustain her household financially down to the last penny. She discussed her plans with her husband and boys to ensure that everyone was ok with this decision so that the necessary financial and household shifts could be made.
2. Planned wisely:
She had a thorough plan A and a plan B written out to earn the finances she needed to take the summer months off.
3. Executed the plan:
Alexa stayed focus and did exactly what she set out to do and continues to takes 3 months off during the summer months to spend time with her kids and hubby along with some much needed**personal-time**.
